i was five or six it was my first trip just me and my mom. We went to japan to visit my aunt who lived there. As a kid the first thing i asked was, "are there any cartoons on" My aunt put a show on called "Anpanman" I didnt understand a word of it but i knew i loved it.

Last night I watched "This is it". If you haven't seen it, WATCH IT. Michael was about to KILL the game. Even thought it was just rehearsal you can see all the amazing things that were about to go on during the show. Thriller and Smooth Criminal hands down are my favorite performances/songs. Watching "This is it" gave me so much in site on how creative he was also what an amazing person he was. His attention to detail and attention to knowing what his fans would want made me that much MORE of a fan. Rest easy michael.

But it also gave me the idea to post all my favorite live performances, well. SOME of them and in no particular order.

-Michael Jackson - "Dangerous" at the 3:50 mark killin' it!

-Michael Jackson - "Smooth Criminal" 2:43 !!!

-Aaliyah - "I Refuse" okay so this isn't a "LIVE" performance but listen to her!!

-Aaliyah- "The One I gave my heart to" listening to her always gives me goosebumps..

**Sidenote** I tried to find Aaliyah performing "Try Again" on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno but it was no where to be found on youtube. That performance is near and dear to me it was the first and only time I ever had a chance to see her perform live. I also shared that day with an amazing friend that made it all possible. Thank you dee-dee, rest easy i never forgot you.

I found out that KIDROBOT is having a munny contest, I'm jumping at the opportunity. The Prize, a mega munny designed by you in a show with amazing artist that I look up to. If i win it would be a dream come true. I first got into KR when my mom was sick at first she thought it was just a hobby that would come and go. (* growing up i had a million hobbies only 1 stuck. and that was art) But something about the munny intrigued me. It gave me a escape to what was going on in my reality. I was losing my mom slowly. And Slowly as the years passed my skills improved and my mom became weaker.
I was in college majoring in graphic design about 2 weeks after i graduated I had a what would be my last "real" talk with my mom (by then her cancer had spread to her brain and liver.. i didn't want to accept it but the inevitable was happening) We talked about my future. What i want to do. Where I would be. She'd often tell me "don't worry everything will be okay, just remember what i taught you" I remember her asking me "How's that "flower" toy your working on" I laughed. and told her "It's not a flower! i actually dont know what it is." She laughed and said "You better work on that" after we both had a good laugh. She proceeded to tell me how proud she was of me and that If i keep her and my dad (who had passed away a few years back) in my heart and her teachings in my soul i could go anywhere. Before I left her room so she could rest she told me "hey. If you get good at that toy designing maybe you can make me one day." I laughed and walked out. That would be the last conversation I had with her. She passed away 2 weeks later. It became my sole goal in life to become the best artist I could ever become. Not just for myself but for her.

Winning this would be the biggest thank-you i could ever give my mom. It would be an Opportunity to express something I never got to tell her in person.

Friday night:

I went to watch "Coraline" with my sister and 2 nieces. I don't know if that was the BEST idea. But ah well, they liked it. I absolutely adored it. I love Henry Selick's way of thinking. The colors, animation, character story lines, Just the whole story in general was amazing. Weird that I've been waiting about a year and a half just to see this film. It was WELL worth it. oh and the 3-D was incredible. I'll probably see it more then once, so anybody that wants to go.. I will def. go witchu! haha.

It has a forward by Johnny Depp and Burton himself breaks down every film he has done. Including the one's while working for Disney. A GREAT read. It also shows his sketches which make that much more worth it!

Oh yeah, on sunday I went to the boat show at L.A convention center with my fam left buying my 3 lil nieces blow up aliens. haha. What can I say. I HAD TO get em!. The show was pretty sick, I mean there are some huge ass boats with a bathroom and all that.. I'll post pics soon.

I'm taken back by the mere amazement of our new president. As a kid politics never interested me, shit. during history class I once answered my "scan tron" test by drawing a picture with the bubbles.

But now as I get older, I see how interesting our history could be. Even the history of my parents country. And now I'm actually living in a historical moment it's a great feeling. How crazy to think that when my nieces are in High school (since right now there too young to completely comprehend wants going on) there going to be learning about this. I wonder how much our history's going to change from here.

I also noticed that Obama references Abraham Lincoln a lot. Makes me want to read more on his history... hmm.. How Fresh would that have been if he came out in a top hat. lol.

While i'm ranting on this..
WHO woulda effin thought that a Graffiti Artist's poster would be a world recognized campaign for our president. That show's such diversity that's going on. GO SHEP!!

So friday night i went to "The Oaks" to have dinner with the Simi Kids and one from Wacksville. First off the people were W E I R D. and the Bulgogi was ALRIGHT. But to the point. The Lovely Katrina recieved one of these, a verizon rebate card...

and the waitress lady BURNED! her out loud and said it was "DECLINED" because apparently there wasen't enough in the rebate card.. she didn't listen to directions. 10$ first, rebate card second. haha.. haha.. haha.. haha.. haha..

and that is.. Katrina.. don't go to dinner with her.. cause her rebate card will get declined.

aright, all my 90s kids stand up for this one.. (and no not u kids that were born in the 90s. i mean the kids that were KIDS in the 90s.)

I asked my mom for one of these for years, and she always said NO. (because my mom being a nurse, i got all my school supplies from the hospital.. she told me it was part of her pay. gotta love it..) But one year we were at "THRIFTY" and I randomly asked her and she actually said yes.. and to this day I still remember which one it was because i would draw the graphic on it. ALL THE DAMN TIME..

My mom saw me watching this show once, and bought me the mini-book series. She thought i'd enjoy the book more then the show.. It didn't end up working out the way she planned haha..

okay.. this show was hands down one of my favorites! When i got one of those pens and put it on a necklace i thought i WAS part of the ghostwriter team. sad i know.. My imagination was intense when I was a kid..Guess some things don't really change

I watch it now.. and STILL want to go on this damn show...

I had to get this subject matter outta my head. Let me give you the scenario.. Ray and I are parking the car to meet up with Hank at a bar in santa monica to ring in the new year. As we were standing there we see a tall guy's silhouette. We crossed the street and turned back and the guy was gone. I mean he couldn't have gone anywhere with out us seeing because there's no where to go. We were trippin out for awhile...
It's weird While i was standing in front of the car the man just stood there a few feet away from me. He stood like somebody i knew. Somebody I miss terribly. I wonder if that was him watching us. Looking out for us like he always did. Must have been his way of saying "what's up".. Thanx for lookin out for us..

BOWL WEEKEND... Ray and I took off to SF to watch Cal play in the Emerald Bowl at AT&T park. One of the best trips we've taken. and a good trip to end our year. Our weekend consisted of, The Bears Winning. Good Food (JollyBee, Joe's Cable Car) and Awesome shopping. We are huge fans of Triple D. So when Ever we are in a new city we try to find a restaurant Guy Ferari's been too. So this trip we went to Joe's Cable Car.. I will never eat a burger unless it's a Joes... off to the pics..
